The Royal Wedding Cake

I'm obsessing over cakes lately, can you tell :)!  I was anxiously awaiting the reveal of The Royal Wedding Cake....and they did not disappoint!   This cake is stunning and the details are incredible,.  It is covered in cream and white icing with over 900 sugar paste flowers all hand-crafted.  Fiona Cairns was the talented cake designer who spent 5 weeks working on the cake covering it not just in flowers but ivy leaves and gorgeous lace work.  The cake was topped with the Royal Couple's cipher.  Take a look:

S'more Peeps!

I thought I'd bring you some s'more peeps :) for your Easter dessert table.  If you like the traditional s'mores, this is for you....simple and with a of pop of color.  Assemble the same way you would your s'more: graham crackers, piece of chocolate (I always use Hershey's), and add your marshmallow Peep!
Easy, yummy and oh, so pretty!

Happy Monday!

It's Spring Break here this week so I warn that the blog post maybe late in the day, if any at all :)!  Yes, all three kiddos are home and we will be taking a short vacation for a few days starting Wednesday and we will be back next week.  It seems only fitting that I start the week with this lovely print that I found on Pinterest.  Spending way to much time on this site but I LOVE it!.

Captures our home quite well, I think!

Wedding Inspiration: Green and White

We will be at The Rooftop at Rockville Town Center's Wedding Gala Event  this weekend and I've been busy getting our table ready.  I though I'd share with you my inspiration board for this event.  I wanted a light, soft romantic feel, with lots of elegance and paid homage to Spring.  I love the color green and added a white and silver to it.  What do you think?

The French take Easter very seriously.  They also take their chocolate very seriously.  That combination results in some serious chocolate eggs for Pâques (Easter in French).  Each chocolatiers tries to outdo the other with their creativity and designs

Special Tasty Tuesday: The New Whole Foods Rockville

Last night I was invited to a Bloggers Pre-Opening Tour of the new Whole Foods Rockville.  Wow...what a beautiful store!!!  I feel the need to share this with you because if you are in the area, this store is going to come in handy.   Whether it's a dinner party, birthday party or romantic dinner you can find everything from flowers to desserts all made in-house for your event.  This store is gogeous!!!!

I'll highlight a few things that I am super excited about.......first  off, their selection of roses is amazing.  I'm kicking myself for not taking a picture!  I was so busy admiring them that I completely forgot....I also need to mention the hydrangeas.....and the price point is quite competitive, not any more expensive than a florist and if they are on sale, definitely cheaper.

Next for me was the bakery.........they have cake pops!!!

These beauties cost $1.99 each.....you can order from a selection of design and flavors.  Yum!!!!

They also have mini-pies!  Also delicious and oh, so adorable...

So I am planning a spa party for a 10 year old and thought their natural made soap in lovely scents like lavender, vanilla, and rose would make the perfect favor!

Go check out the store, all 51,000 sq. ft .of fresh, natural, organic, whole trade goodness!  A few more pics to convince you, it's worth a look-see!

Need help or menu ideas when it comes to cooking.......head to the Cooking Station!

Freshly made pasta!

Cheese, glorious cheese

Grind your own corn for polenta, rice for cereal, or anything else that suits your fancy!

Summer Color Inspiration!

I know it barely feels like Spring, but I am thinking of Summer already.  I've got two events tin June that I'm working on inspiration boards for.  I think the first board which I found over at Dooby Design Group would be great for a wedding, baby shower, or bridal shower.  Orange is one of my favorite colors and I love it paired with this turquoise and tan.

Wishing for Some Bobbette and Belle Macarons

So this week my husband is in Toronto for a conference.....and I must say I am a little green with envy!  Not for the conference part, but for being in Toronto.  Why, you ask?  Well, my friends one of my all time favorite bakeries with the most amazing cake designers and macaron makers reside in Toronto.

Now I have never tasted anything from Babbette and Belle and that, my friends,  is why I long to be in Toronto right now.  How can I call them my favorite if I have not officially tasted their cakes or macarons?! But, alas, I am here in Maryland tending to my 3 lovely girlies and wishing for a taste of ANYTHING from Bobbette and Belle.   Let me show why and perhaps, you might understand my longing.........

First off, any bakery that looks this divine........
must have treats that are equally divine......
Here are some more of their fabulous treats................

and the macarons.....

Now do you understanding my longing?  One, just one!  Is that too much to ask?

Never mind that I have no idea where the hubby is in relation to the bakery, but a girl can hope! He  comes home on Saturday.  I'll let you know on Monday if he came through!
